I have owned Goldens since 1984. Please browse this site and find out more about the Goldens that live with me and the ones that live in my memory. I have owned some GREAT dogs in the past and feel that some GREAT dogs are in the future for Goldtales Kennels………the story continues !

This website is a labor of love designed and updated by myself periodically. I am no “webmaster” nor do I have fancy graphics but I hope my love of Golden Retrievers and their lives are portrayed on this site.

All of the dogs that I own and breed have the 4 clearances required by the Golden Retriever Club of America; hips, elbows, heart and annual eye examination. These clearances are submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).  The OFA is a database for canine health test results and radiographic (x-ray) screening of hips and elbows. The OFA database is open to all to search. In addition to health screening, I breed for correct structure, breed type and that wonderful temperament and loving happy personality typical of the breed. All they really want to do is be close to their human !

Occasionally I have puppies so please check under litters for upcoming planned litter. If you are searching for a puppy it may take several months to find a well bred future family member. Do not accept ANY excuses from a breeder who does not have all the genetic clearances. Any GOOD breeder will happily provide the sire and dam’s name so their clearances can be verified on OFA. They also should welcome you into their home to meet the dam prior to pups being born. You should ask questions of the breeder and they will be asking lots of questions of you if they are a reputable breeder. It’s a lot of commitment, time and energy raising a litter. I take pride in raising my puppies and making sure they are well socialized and acclimated to household noises.

The Golden Retriever Club of America (www.GRCA.org) has a wealth of information about breeders, puppies, health concerns, breed standards, genetics, etc. The more you can learn about Goldens the better owner you will be !

I have been a member of GRCA for 25 years and a member of Evergreen Golden Retriever Club for many years serving on the Board of Directors for 4 years and participating and chairing local club events.

I enjoyed and proudly exhibited my dogs in the conformation ring for many years but as I’ve gotten older I could not run around the ring anymore ( which does your dog no good) and handed the leads over to more capable people.
